Mosop & Associates, Certified Public Accountants, is an independent accounting and advisory firm situated in Kenya that is geared towards partnering with companies and other businesses to map and capitalize on business opportunities existing in the market.
The firm received its practicing license on 18th March 2009 under Practicing Certificate No.1693 which was given to its founding partner Mr. Harun K. Mosop. Subsequently the firm has continued to offer quality services to small, medium and large enterprises in the public and private sectors in Kenya.
Our firm has a pool of consultants, auditors and accountants who have rich experience in their respective areas of practice. We focus on incorporating higher value-added activities, developing wider skills and being committed to life-long learning. This added value is complimented by the technical proficiency in the planning and management of the assignments. Our clients always gain assurance that their needs are addressed properly.
The firm’s areas of practice include statutory audits, accounting and bookkeeping, tax advisory, corporate finance, assurance services, business advisory services, management consultancy, payroll administration, business restructuring and reorganizations, investment advice in capital and other markets, working capital management and business valuation. We also carry out reviews of systems of internal controls, internal audits, risk assessment and compliance issues as well as business decisions.
We conduct the audit, assurance and advisory services primarily in order to provide assurance that the organizations’ systems of internal control are effective and efficient to mitigate against risks of loss.
We achieve this using several methods such as discussing with the management and staff to gain understanding of the company’s activities, using observation, reviewing financial documents, circularization of trade receivables and payables and by obtaining certificates of bank and cash balances.
We also review the processes and procedures of recording and capturing transactions to gain assurance that there are no material misstatements and omissions of transactions. Our primary objective is to ensure that the funds in the businesses are being properly managed. We also purpose to identify areas that may require strengths of internal control and give our recommendations for improvement.
